February newsletter

God Bless each and everyone of you,

It's February already, hope each one of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Hope this newsletter finds everyone blessed and healthy.

Earl and Gabriel are under the weather, but with Gods Grace and Mercy it won't last long. Please be in prayer for their healing. The weather in the states has  been very cold, the snow has quit for a few days and they are expecting high temperatures by Friday, I'm like everyone else, WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!

As you may know, February is the month of Carnival, the Dominican Republic streets are full of evil, lot of drinking, drugs, and criminal mischief. Be in prayer for this country and the people of LaVega.

Not much going on in the school, the school is preparing for the mission team coming in March to do some construction, painting, VBS, and some great preaching. We are so excited to have our first team and we praise God for all the efforts put forth for this event.  We will be visiting several churches during the nights, sharing Gods word.  We will have sponsors on board to spend time with their sponsored children and hopefully they will be able to meet the families of these children.
Since the devastated time with the earthquake, we would love to share that Jesus is with them every single day, our lives don't have to be in turmoil, we need to leave our worries behind and find our faith in our Lord and Savior. Our plans are to show them that the earthquakes won't hold them back, "all things are possible through him that strengthens me."

We ask that you be in prayer this whole month and next for the team thats coming, we pray that their lives will be changed in more ways than imaginable. Most of these people have been here before, but never had the chance to work with the Haitian communities, There will be a husband and wife that will be here for the first time also and we wish them many miracles to see.  This trip is not  for us, it will be for their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I have met a lady that lives next door to my mother, her and I have a bible study on Wednesday nights, as we are studying the book, "10 Curses That Block The Blessings", by Larry Huch, as I've spoken about Carnival this month in LaVega, I want to leave you with this,  so much of what happens at Carnival is witchcraft, every word, every movement, everything that is seen is done all week long, those who attend are cursed by this event, the curse can stay with them until who knows when. Please read 1 Peter 1:18-19.

Please be in prayer for all people who have curses, pray for them, guide them with Gods word.

We pray for all of you, until next month, God Bless all of you, Earl, Shirley, and Gabriel

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hope your having an enjoyable evening,

I hope this newsletter finds everyone happy, healthy, and blessed. Here we are in the final month of this year, it has been a hard and very confusing year, but with the mercy and grace of our savior, we made it!

The children in the Haitian Christian Education Center began making Christmas decorations for their Christmas tree, as you will see in the pictures they sure had a good time.  As other missionaries can tell you, donations are down and our supporters are finding it hard to continue some of the support, we are asking that for the month of December, please be in prayer for the school and it's hardships along with all the other missionaries who are trying to continue Gods plan for each one of their ministries.  I pray for many blessings for those of you who can and can't  continue to support us.

The children are looking forward to those of you are willing to step out into faith and answer the call of God to help them get a Christian education.  As you may know by now, our ministry, "Gabriel's Outreach", is hosting a mission trip beginning the 18th of March 2011, it will be one week long, we are planning VBS, painting, and construction, I would also like for some of you who are musical to help out and let's teach the Haitians to praise our Savior in the English Language.  If you have talents in guitar, keyboard, drums, and love to sing, please come and join us.  We would like to have some street evangelism for those who would like to help out with that.  Go to our Blog @thefeatsents.com and see the details for that trip, or call Earl at 814-806-3007, or call me at 814-853-1319.

I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic on Monday  the 13th, to finish up Gabriel's adoption, our residency is complete, so now we are headed to the capital to meet with C.O.N.A.N.I. (persons who handles adoptions) to get this final approval.  Be in prayer for all three of us as we continue to complete this project God has graciously given us.  Of course traveling mercy also, because of the weather.

I have had a hard time these last few weeks with the attitudes of different people, it seems like the Christmas season is effecting everyone, some of the nicest people had hardened there hearts towards other people, I have seen so much evil through the mouths of the community, I have been praying and asking God to show me what I need to share with everyone, here is where he led me, James 3:1-18, this chapter tells me what dangers we can create from using our tongues the wrong way, this is the Christmas season, we should be loving one another, we should be willing to help those in need, we should also be helping the widow and the poor, we should be celebrating the birth of Jesus, what he was created for and his plan he is carrying out for his father.  If we don't share with others the love of Jesus, how would we expect them to do the same.  In verse 18, his word tells us, "those of us who plant seeds of peace will gather what is right and good". How could we not want PEACE this Christmas season, share this with someone who don't know our savior, let's start changing the lives of people around us.

Until next month, I wish and pray for peace, love, and knowledge of Jesus!  I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and may the next year bring more people seeking to find out who,  JESUS IS!!!!!!!!!

                                                                                      God Bless from Gabriel's Outreach,
                                                                                              Earl, Shirley and Gabriel

UPDATE TO MISSION TRIP

We had some people say that our request for half the trip at Christmas, made it had to do. We have changed the payments to half on Jan. 30,2011 and final on Feb 28. We would like people to fly into Santiago Airport if possable. If not we can make trips to other airports to pick up people.
We had a Christmas tree trimming party today at school. The children  had a ball making the decorations.
WE WOULD LIKE EVERYBODY TO PRINT OUR POSTOR AND HANG IT IN THERE CHURCH        Thanks and God Bless,  Earl

La Vega Mission Trip

The Invasion

God Bless each one of you who reads this,

This will be our newsletter this month on sad circumstances, I have received a call from Earl and Gabe this afternoon, we were robbed in our home in the D.R., Earl and Gabriel were in church this morning when someone decided to help themselves to our things, when Earl arrived home this afternoon, he found our living room filled with lots of sunshine, he felt something was wrong, as he continued to look around he found our living room window busted out, the robbers used something very heavy to break the concrete window and pulled the bars out along with it, we now have a huge hole in the wall.

Earl and Gabriel are fine, but stirred up some, many things were stolen, robbers took our lap top computer that Earl uses for school business, Earl's camera, all the computer things like the card reader, the additions that go along with the computer, his computer bag, along with our important papers inside that allows Gabriel to come home to the states, our DVD player, my portable CD player, my portable cassette player, and many many more things, they tried to take the pazola, but for some reason they decided not too! They even had the nerve to take Gabriel's pillow case off his bed,  to put some things into to climb out over the wall.

We are grateful to God that no one was hurt, Earl is beside himself tonight, we are asking for your prayers tonight and the rest of this week to get answers to this robbery. The sad thing was, Earl had to pay the police officer to come and write a police report. We are sure this robbery will never be solved, but we pray that God will punish the ones who did this.

If you would please pray that God will supply Earl with a used laptop to continue his work , that their safety will be supplied, as of this moment, his work in the D.R. will be on HOLD. There will be no pictures for those of you who read this newsletter, he worked very hard on the photos he took when he made the tables and benches, he had the children painting them, we lost all of our pictures.

Thank you for your prayers and all you do for God ministry, keep Earl and Gabriel lifted up at this time,  I will be writing again when things get settled down. God Bless each and everyone of you.  I will be traveling there on Sunday, October 31st,  please pray for traveling mercies.  All for the love of Jesus, Shirley

Fall Begins

Good evening everyone,

The first day of Fall has come and we all know what  comes next, not just leaf raking, pumpkin picking, or putting all the summer things away in your yards.  The weather will soon be heading for us and our bodies will be so tired of Cabin fever, "I have nothing to do", or "I'm bored", It is always easier to say things like that then to get into Gods word.

We should be in his word daily, but our lives have been so busy we never have time to do what he is asking of us. I encourage you on the first day of Fall, give God some of your time, regardless how much you have. Ask him for direction in your life, ask him to use you in whatever plan he has for you. Try to step out of your comfort zone and do something different.  Use this time to become closer to him and show him your willing.

The Christian Haitian Education Center has begun, we have 69 children so far this year, there has been new subjects added, like music and art.  The teacher Wilbert Darius just returned from Haiti from purchasing new school books for the students. Earl bought 100 notebooks and each child's parent will purchase one notebook, that way the child will have one for the classroom and they will have one to take home to do homework in. Shipping cost has skyrocketed and it is so hard for our supporters to ship supplies to us, we do have some supporters that have lots of things to get to us and we will try very hard to get them to the D.R.

When I spoke to Earl several times this week, Gabriel was taken to the Emergency room with high fever, he is battling a raspatory infection.  I'm sure it's difficult for Earl with me here and them there,  We did receive good news today, PRAISE GOD!!!!!!! Our residency is finished, Earl and our attorney will be going to Santiago on Wednesday to pick his up and then we will be returning to C.O.N.A.N.I. with our new paperwork, please be in prayer for all these things, it has been a long 5 year battle, but Jesus is the winner in all this and he will reign at the end.

I have been working around the elderly apartment where my mother lives, not am I only helping her, but there are always woman here needing help with the lawns, carrying things in, and needing prayer. I will begin a visiting time with the women here, getting to know each and everyone of them.
My mother is doing great, she is still taking an exercise program at the local hospital here, I keep her walking each day, as long as it doesn't rain, my sister Martha had her Cat Scan and will be taking another 4 weeks of chemotherapy treatments, she will have them every Wednesday morning for 3 to 4 hours each time.  This has been a devastating time for her since we lost Carl, but God is working on her right now and he will help her make peace with all of it, she is attending church with me and that seems to be giving her peace of mind, please keep all of us in prayer as we continue to help each other.

We will have more details on the upcoming mission trip in March on October newsletter, thank you for your support, prayers, and all the things God gives us.
In closing I want to warn everybody that the devil can be very deceitful, you think the Lord is leading you and you fallow. Be careful to check your path with the Lords word.  Thanks for all the support and prayers, God Bless all of you

Praise God

The school is open and running fine. We have many new students and two new teachers. One teacher plays the keyboard and wants to start music classes. The big problem is we have no keyboard, If anyone has a unused keyboard and would like to donate it to the school it would be used by many students. We still need a lot of items.
  1) keyboard
  2) old computers in working order
  3) shoes  children sizes, (black leather)
  4) children books and DVD's
  5) MONEY to buy school supplys

Quick Update!!!!

This is only a quick update,

Most of you know that I have been spending time with my brother in law as his pastor, waiting for the Lord to take him home.  Thursday afternoon, 1:45 pm, Carl went home to be with his savior.

Carl was a new Christian, several weeks before we got word there was nothing more they could do, he accept the Lord in his hospital room, my niece Cynitha was given the opportunity to hear the details about his testimony of faith, she is a strong Christian and she will be forever grateful to God for using her to minister also with Carl.  God using each and everyone of us, I have been through many bad situations before, but God has blessed me by using me also every day Carl was alive, I was by his side day in and day out, many sleepless nights, swollen feet, and back aches, but NOTHING will replace my time with Carl and the lessons I learned from all this. He was a fighter and a dedicated one also, he fought right up to his last breathe, the smile on his face when it was over, was very rewarding to know someone loved Jesus in that little bit of time and knowing he went to live with the Lord. I WILL PRAISE GOD ALWAYS!!!!!

In James 5:15, it talks about effective prayer, take some time today and begin reading this, with effective and faithful prayer, God will lead you to help a family member accept him as Lord and Savior, let's start praying harder today. God Bless each and everyone of you, please continue to pray for my sister, Martha, Carl's wife, she is still battling cancer, she finished up 18 rounds of Radiation, she is going in soon to be tested again to see where her cancer stands, let's keep the faith of prayer going.

Thank you for all your support  prayers, flowers, and phone calls during this difficult time.  All for the love of Jesus, Shirley

Coming To An End

God Bless each one of you,

Well, the summer is coming to an end for most of us,  we hope your summer has been a blessed one.  As for us, it has been a busy and very difficult one, most of you know that I have been witnessing to my sister (Martha) and her husband (Carl), Carl was given less than a month to live on this earth, then they gave him two weeks, but yesterday was his second week and he is still with us. PRAISE GOD!!!!! We are also praising God this day, God was saved the first day in ICU, I (Shirley) have been spending lots of time with them and my family, when I enter the room, he looks over to me and puts his arms up and ask to pray with him, we are glorifying God for all he has done in Carl's life.  We ask for you to continue to pray until God decides to take him home, his wife Martha, and their children and the rest of my family.  Also, please pray for my mother, Alice, she has C.O.P.D., her breathing is pretty bad, but I am with her also and God is working strongly in her life, she now prays with us all.

Earl and Gabriel will be returning on the 2nd of September, I will be staying behind for awhile to take care of my family and my spiritual life, I am in desperate need of finding direction from God, when the adoption continues I will be returning for a visit, I am praying hard for the adoption to be completed this YEAR. We have gotten good news from C.O.N.A.N.I, the government of adoptions in the Dominican Republic, they are willing to help with this adoption when our residency comes through, we applied back in May before I left to come home and we should be just about done, please keep this up in prayer for us.

The leadership committee from our church, Greenville Baptist Church, in Greenville Pa., gave us a letter when we first returned home and the letter said our loan for the 2000 Toyota Van is free and clear, we are so grateful to all of you who help us get the van and be able to transport people and children around. Praise God for all the things he has given us.

As for the school, the first day will be September 5th, they will be working on registration on the 3rd as soon as Earl will get home.  We are setting up a mission trip for March, if you would like to come and help out with the school for a week, please email us and let us know your intentions, we are trying to see how many would like to come and find out how many would like to do bible school, pain ting, concrete work, evangelizing, and etc.  This project will be your choice, you will be able to go into the communities and witness for the glory of God, you will be able to see how the Haitians live and what their lives are like each and everyday.
We would like to have playground equipment, divide the room into 4 sections, racks for the children to put their bookbags on, and many more things.
Please pray about this, this is an opportunity for you to do something that God has called each of us to do, will you leave your comfort zone and step up and say YES LORD!!!!!!! Use me.

Please read Matthew 10: 1-15, when Jesus commissioned the twelve, he has commissioned all of us to go out and spread his word, are you willing to step up and do that? Please take a week and you won't be sorry for for what God will do in your life. God Bless each and everyone of you, we will be praying for you as you are praying for us.  All for the love of Jesus, Shirley,Earl, and Gabriel
