Special Request

We have a special request this evening. If you have been fallowing our newsletters you will know that Wilber's house roof blew off some time ago. We have been getting prices to finish off his house. Today we found out we need about $2400 dollars for material to complete this project. We have a team coming down in March to do the work, but we are short on money for material. Please pray and ask your church's if they could help us out.
Wilber is the backbone of our school, and he works for almost nothing. He tells me that he can't keep his cloths at his house, so he puts them in a small box at the school . If anyone deserves this work he does.
Please send anything you can to T.M.C.I. (the missionary church int. )
                                                      P.O. box 1761
                                                      Columbia, S.C. 29202
This will be a Tax deductible donation !!
as always put a note that's its for Haitian Christian Education Center ( for Wilbers house project )

Thank You so much and God Bless,   Earl

66 cents

What can you do with 66cents a day, buy a cup of coffee ? Not hardly, candy bar, NO. Ice cream, ha ha.
Well let me tell you what it can do down here in the Dominican Republic. 66 cents a day can provide schooling and a hot lunch for a Haitian child here. That comes to about 20 dollars a month, and that much will sponsor a Haitian child in our school. At this time we have about 50 children in our school ( Haitian Christian Education Center)
We have only 15 children sponsored now and our  school is struggling to survive. We can NOT feed the children now like we want to. I was at the school this morning and saw about 7 children with skin problems from not getting enough proper food to and clean water to drink. If every child was sponsored we could feed them a good meal everyday!
PLEASE PRAY ABOUT SPONSORING A CHILD TODAY !!!!
Thanks and may God bless you,   Earl Featsent

What would you do?

God Bless each of you,

Sorry it's taken so long to write a newsletter, but I just returned from the Dominican Republic spending the holidays with Earl and Gabriel.  What a glorious time we had, the sun was out most of the time, the time of the year was great for a friends wedding, (Earl, Gabriel and I stood up for our friends), we would like to congratulate Alberto and Pretchy Pena on their marriage, we do pray God continues to bless you all, we were able to visit some friends we haven't seen in a couple years,(Renaida Garcia), is expecting her first child, her husband and her are delighted to be having a daughter, and we worked on some of the adoption for Gabriel, of course, it's not over yet, we are still trying to get all the paperwork in order and the attorney to find time to work with us to finish this up.  We are leaving it in Gods hand, please  be in prayer for all of us.

I did accomplish my visits with the Haitian Christian Education Center, we are learning more and more about our Savior, they are so smart when questioned about him, they truly do love the Lord as much as he loves them, we were able to teach them a couple new songs in English, those of you who are coming on the mission trip in March, you will be able to hear them.

For those of you who didn't know, the mission trip is set for March 19th thru 26th, 2012, there will be some carpentry work, brick work, painting, visiting families, and VBS, VBS will be lead by April Gaines again this year, the kids loved them coming last year and are looking forward to them coming again.  The cost is $450.00, and you buy your own airline tickets, if you sponsor a child in the school and would like to bring them something, feel free to do so.

I want to share a little story with you, when I was with Earl and Gabriel, they were telling me about these two boys, which are twins, Gabriel was telling me how mean they were to him, they would hit him in the head, chase him down the street until he reached his front gate, no matter how horrible they were to him, he was still going ? out to play with them, I told him, if they are mean to you, you just come home and leave them alone, don't fight with them, he understood what I was saying, but  before I left for the states, he told me that they were being nice to him again, only God knows what had happen to make them stop being mean.  Today I called to see how he was doing and he proceeded to tell me about the twins, they had an electrical fire last night and lost everything they owned, including their home. Gabriel heard what happen and he and Earl went into his closet and started picking out clothes that don't fit him anymore, he said pants, shirts, underwear, and socks, they took them to the twins. I said to him, I thought they were mean to you, but he said mom, they lost everything!
Now, I thought Gabriel wasn't listening to half the stuff Earl and I have been teaching him, God showed me otherwise, what would you have done if you were in Gabriel's shoes? Take a lesson from a 6 year old, never turn your back on someone, you will never know when God will put someone into your path for help, lets love one another, as Jesus has loved us!

Please be in prayer for Earl and Gabriel, the Haitian Christian Education Center, the children, our mission trip coming up in March, the missionaries that are coming, the supporters for the school, and of course our teacher, Wilbert Darius and his family, what a blessing he is

All for the love of Jesus,  Shirley,Earl, and Gabriel

merry CHRISTmas to all

Wishing everyone a very merry CHRISTmas, and the best new year ever !! Don't forget the reason for the season, JESUS CHRIST. As for us we had one of the best Christmas's ever. We were able to bring joy to almost 100 children, with the help of our LORD and many donated items.
Please don't forget our school and the Haitian children through out the new year. We still need many new sponsor's for the children. We only have 15 children sponsored and have 31 that need sponsored. Remember it is only $20.00 a month, less than a dollar a day to get the child in school and help buy books and uniform. If we get all 46 children sponsored  we can maybe start a lunch program. Please pray about this in 2012. Also talk to your friends and family about sponsoring. Don't forget about the mission trip in March, you can come and visit with your sponsored child for a week. We will have construction work, VBS, and home visits to the child's home. Dates are March 19th--26th please let us know early if you plan on coming, so we can make arrangements for room and board. The cost of trip will be $450 again and you book airline tickets to Santiago Dominican Republic. We would like to have a $200.00 dollar deposit in by Jan.31st.

HOW GOD CAN USE A SMALL CHURCH TO BLESS OUR SCHOOL

Hello all, I'm hoping you all had a blessed Thanksgiving. I just had to write and tell everybody what we received last Friday. It was our normal mail day, but this day we received 10 boxes of goodies from a small church in West Virginia. These boxes contained many items for the Haitian Christian Education Centers children. As you know this is our project in the Dominican Republic. I'm going to try and list a few items in the boxes, there are enough for every child. Tooth brushes and paste, wash cloths and soap, flip-flop sandals, many toys, candy, socks, and cloths, school supply's, and many story books. As I drove my van home I felt like Santa driving his sled !
I really want to thank the people from Oil Creek U.M. Church, Roanoke, West Virginia. This is a small church with about 50 or 60 people. The took a vote to send a Christmas to our school, instead of doing shoe boxes this year. I want everybody to say a small prayer for these people, also don't forget the reason for the season, JESUS CHRIST. please don't take Christ out of Christmas, also pray for our mission. Thank You and may GOD BLESS all of you.  Earl, Shirley and  Gabriel

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving everyone,

Usually when I write the newsletter, Earl always reads over it before I post it, well, he has been out of electricity since Tuesday, I have been trying to call and my calls go directly into voice mail, please be in prayer for electricity and our communication.

I am trying to gather funding for my trip to the D.R. for our family Christmas this year, each year it seems to be getting harder. I know God will supply all I need to get there and finish our adoption. C.O.N.A.N.I. says they will no longer fight us, they will give us our approval, but I need to be there to finish the paperwork, we are in the process of doing all of those wonderful papers AGAIN. We would appreciate your prayers for this last thing that is asked of us. PRAISE GOD!

The Haitian Christian Education Center is in full mode, the children came back in full force, we have had some children go back to Haiti, but we are still excited in their willingness to learn all that they can about our Lord and Savior. Our sponsor ships have dropped off, but God is the only one who can make this all work, we thank all of you who have faith in our calling for this school, your sponsor ships are greatly appreciative.

Reminder that the mission trip is set for March 19th thru 26th, 2012, if you are willing to step out into faith and join us, please email Earl or myself, and we will give details and dollar amounts you will need. Last year, we had a group of wonderful people, everyone was willing to do whatever they had to do to get the job done, April had a terrific VBS, we all had a glorious time with each other.

I have been taught many things this week in bible study, one of the studies that we are hearing about is the mess this country is in (USA), in II Chronicles 7:14-22, we are ask to call him by name, humble ourselves, pray, seek, and crave him, he will hear us, he will heal our land, we sometimes don't give up our wicked ways for him,but he is asking us too, he wants us to tell everyone in every nation about him, we need to pray always, seek always, and ask for more of him in our lives, until we change our attitudes he won't hear us, find time to sit down and spend quality time with him, pray for direction in what he wants you to do, find answers! The more we look up to him, the more he will listen to us.
I have learned so much about my own faith this past year, I wasn't even close, personal things were more important to me, today, I am happy to tell you, he is the only thing I look up too, he is the one that guides me and directs me, I had to focus more on him and everything else will fall into place. I loved everything he has ask me to do in the past few years, I am looking forward to however many more years he is willing to let me have to continue to work for him. My eyes, my heart, my mind, and my soul are praying, seeking, and craving all that I can have with him.

Earl, Gabriel, and I pray that all of you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving time with your families, don't forget to take time out to thank the most important person, Jesus Christ, for all he has done for you. See you next month. God Bless,
                                                                       Earl,Shirley, and Gabriel

Matthew 13:1-9 "The parable of the sower."

Hello my brothers and sisters in Christ,

Hope this newsletter finds all well and blessed!  As we begin the new Fall season, everyone is back to their ministries, we pray for all of you who are missionaries and supporters of those who are working for our Lord and Savior.

The Haitian Christian Education Center begins, there are 35 children enrolled so far this year, we ask for your prayers for support, pray that God uses all who are in agreement to complete what God has ask them to do this year.  As I spoke to Earl this morning, all is fine on the home front, he and Gabriel has had some run ins with Satan, but our God is so good with his promises in each of our lives. I am asking for continue prayers for them, our adoption of Gabriel, the school, the children and teachers. We are still seeking supporters for our ministry, God has blessed us with new ones this year and we thank each and everyone of you who feel lead to walk out in faith to help us accomplish this task.

We are still praying for the Shoe Fund this year, we have collected a little over $100.00 so far, if you would like to consider buying a pair of shoes, ($10.00 per pair) please send your donations to T.M.C.I., P.O. Box 1761 Columbia, S.C. 29202, if you are interested in sponsorship's, please note your wishes to which your donations should be for, this is all tax deductable!

We are looking for our next mission trip, we have chosen March 19th-26th, 2012, we are believing that God will touch your heart to come and be blessed.  If you are interested, please contact Earl or Shirley at 814-806-3007, and let us know if this week is good for you or not, we have about 5 people that would like that week, Next month, we will let you know what the cost is and the projects for that trip.

Special congratulations go out to Fred and Cherise Pringle , Clay and Rachel Triplett, on their new marriages. They both were united on September 3, 2011, Earl officiated Pringle's in Pennsylvania and I officiated Triplett's in Texas. What a joyous time for both of these couples, we ask for your prayers in their new lives together and that God will bless them and their marriages.
Special thanks go out to Robert Mitchell and his family for the invitation to come down to West Virginia and share in the Reunion of their churches this past August, it was a blessing from God to spend time with his family and the sponsors who give so generously to Gabriel's Ministry, we are so blessed to have all of you and you will always have our prayers. God Bless each one of you!

My mom, (Shirley's), is doing well, now that the cooler weather has come, it's much easier for her to breathe, My sister, Martha, is still battling Hodgkin, she is under serious Chemotherapy, lost her hair, but still holding her faith that God is the healer of all who believe. She has been strong and courageous through her battle. We thank you for all your prayers, please continue them for us all.

In Matthew 13:1-9, we have read about the parable of the sower, I am asking you to read those verses, find time to sit and be still, open your ears and hear what God is asking you to do for him. Always be a sower no matter where you are and what your doing, you may be surprised what you hear!

Keep us all in your prayers, we look forward to seeing you in March 2012. God bless each and everyone of you.  All for the Love of Jesus, Earl, Shirley, and Gabriel

Just a short message

This is just a quick note to ask all of you who support our children in the Haitian Christian Education Center, please keep your support going all summer, this will enable the children to be ready to begin again in September, if you haven't made arrangements for support, please e-mail us and we can get the information to you.

Also remember, the shoe fund for the children will be collected all summer, we would love to be able to take the children to the shoe store for another year of brand new shoes for the school program. Please send your donated amount to T.M.C.I. along with note for "SHOE FUND".

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER, GOD BLESS EACH ONE OF YOU FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS!

Summer is here now!

Hola Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Hope this letter finds all happy and blessed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Earl and Gabriel has arrived safely to the U.S. for their 3 month stay.  It is so good to have my family home, I wish you could of seen the picture on Gabriel's face when he arrived at the Buffalo Airport, he came running down the hallway screaming mommy, mommy, mommy, and jumped into my arms, that was a blessing from God for sure.

The Haitian Christian Education Center will be done for the summer break this week, the children have learned lots of new things and I was so touched by those children when I returned for our first mission trip in March, they began with a church service and sang Christian songs I'd  taught them in English, it just brought tears to my eyes. Praise God for that miracle that they still remember the words.

We will be sharing the date for the second  mission trip for next year, it will be  in next months newsletter, so If you missed the first one, this will be your chance to come and join us in the 2012..

This year we are seeking new sponsors for our children to join the others who have so generously been giving, this is a once in a life time offer to help Gods children learn more about our Savior. It is still $20.00 a month.  This summer we are also collecting for our second annual SHOE DRIVE.  We would like to be able to buy each child in the school a new pair of shoes, also maybe even give them a new white pair of socks. The cost for shoes will be $10.00 a pair, you may send your donations for shoes or sponsorships to T.M.C.I., P.O. Box 1761 Columbia, S.C. 29202, please put note and tell Judy what the donation is for.

This summer we will be willing to come to your church for a visit, we can talk about the ministry or share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with your congregation. Please e-mail us if you would like for us to come visit!

Most of you know, we are headed back in September to finally finish up Gabe's adoption, C.O.N.A.N.I., which is the government over the children in the Dominican told us there will be no more fighting over this matter, they will help us finish this up. This has been a long 6 years for us and we know with God, all things are possible, but in his time and not ours.

Updates on my family situations, my mom is doing well, she fell a couple of times this past Mothers Day and injured her foot, but thanks be to God, she is doing okay. My sister who has cancer had a biopsy yesterday and the new spot they found was growing by leaps and bounds, she had it removed this morning and test are being done on it now, pray for peace and healing, this Praise I am so grateful for, is the apartment that the Lord found for a family member who was homeless with their two small children, my nephew Chris, is back from Afghanistan, he is safe and still serving our country in Texas.  God has given me so many miracle these past few months and I know he will continue to do so, we all just need to intercede for each other. WITH THIS IN MIND, read LUKE 18: 1-8, God tells us in verse 7, "Will not God make the things that are right come to his chosen people who cry day and night to Him?" Let's all pray day and night for each other and see the miracle he has at hand be given to you.  God Bless each and everyone of you, please continue to pray for the Haitian Christian Education Center and it's children and teachers.

REASON TO PRAISE GOD

Good morning my brothers and sisters in Christ, First  of all I'm sorry this news is so late, but we have been working very hard the last two months. In March we had our first American team in to help us with the school. They worked very hard and much was done, we now have three classrooms instead of only one. We are still putting the finishing touches on the third room, but two are complete. Our team was small , but God put together a GREAT team. There were members from four different states. All members came together to work for the one true living God.
This month we have been painting and decorating the two rooms. As I am writing this Wilbert and two Haitian men are doing cement work and painting the third room.

As you can see in the picures, the rooms are much brighter and cheerful. The children love it now. Along with the new paint we have made new chalk boards. In the up coming weeks I will be making more tables and benches. We hope to get rid of all plastic chairs, which are loaned to us from the church.
We have come a long way from the school we started in Carmeleta, but we still have some need for your prayer. Every month we have to struggle to pay the teachers ( they are lucky to get half of what they should get) We can correct this problem by getting more children sponsored. At this time we only have 15 children sponsored and we have 70 students. It is only $20.00 dollars to sponsor a child, Please speak to friends and neighbors about sponsoring a child. If we could get all children sponsored, we would have no problems.
These children come from very poor homes and mostly only one parent. They have no running water or electric in the concrete unfinished place they call home. Most don't have a bed to sleep in at night. They just love the school and can't wait to come. It's the only chance they have for a better way of life.
We want to open up to you a welcome to come down and see the child you sponsor and be a part of our up coming trip. We would like your input as to when we should have the next trip. In the past the trip to LaVega was always in March. We want to start planning a trip and need to get a date which is good for everybody. Please give us your input.

Thanks and may God bless you all, Earl,Shirley and Gabriel
